I drew this yesterday when I was supposed to be doing homework. It's only a sketch, but I'm amazingly pleased with how it came out. I usually flip the paper over multiple times during the drawing process and look at the mirrored image by holding the page up to a light so I can more easily see balance/proportion/crap issues, but I forgot with this one until the end, and surprisingly, I couldn't find any major issues with it. He is slightly off balance, but the way his shoulders/arms/legs/head are positioned works well to make him look like he's standing like that for a reason. He's skeptical. Or something. I don't know, it's late. I need more sleep... The one thing I don't like is the scarf, which is magically hanging there like it's made of plastic or something. I need to improve on my fabric drawing skills. On the other hand, I really like how the shading came out. I've been trying not to do things like shading and bold outlines until I get the drawing onto the computer, but I couldn't resist. The drawing started out as an anatomy/proportion experiment thingie, and it slowly progressed into a shading test, but that's not the point. I'd say the experiment turned out to be a success (or at least a partial success.) I'll probably think this is crap in a few weeks. If I ever get around to coloring it and whatnot, I'll move this to scraps, but it's here for now because I like it.
Wow, what a long description. I'm going to bed now...
